Follow the progress of ACE teachers Miss Butler, Mrs. Thompson, Miss Harrington and Mr. Golightly as they visit Wuhou Foreign Language School in China.

One week and counting!

The final details are almost sorted and departure is getting scarily close! We had another meeting today to sort out some of the last minute important stuff, like flight check-in times, tickets, transfers, insurance and who's taking the teabags. (Got to be PG!) Might sneak in a couple of emergency choccy bars too, just in case we get any delays.

It's been an interesting week, as we get ready for the off, with several classes producing some fantastic drawings of Tudor buildings in Ashby, and Reception performing three absolutely brilliant nursery rhymes, while a couple of year six children did a video of them. It is now being edited, ready to put on a disc to take with us.

A colleague also gave me a nice book on speaking Mandarin, with a cd that allows you to check your pronunciation. Miss Butler has been heard wandering around school trying different words out, but from what her class have told me, she needs more practice!

  4. Hooray! I've made it on at last! I'll have a little listen through my classroom wall this week and check the progress of Miss Butler's Mandarin practise!
    I can't believe you've got less than a week until you go. I will look forward to reading about what a wonderful time you're all having in half term!

    Wow its nearly hear. Hope all the packing is done and dusted. hope the flights are going to be good although it is very long im shure you will fall asleep! Pandas will be amazin ,hope u enjoy it

  16. Looked at all the pictures,they are awesome,not sure about the food.When I said Spurs won their game they actually lost 3-0 to blackpool last night obviously they must be missing your support!I hope you enjoy seeing the pandas today.
